Hi! My name is Jenna Arafeh, and I am currently a third year at Duke University studying history while pursuing my secondary school teaching license. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work with Cloud on this collection. It has been a true privilege to work on pieces that have become so meaningful to me. After spending a long time feeling as though I was practicing my faith on autopilot, I sought a way to intentionally reconnect with Islam through something deeply personal. Art and graphic design have been passions of mine since childhood, and being able to merge my creative practice with my faith has been both challenging and profoundly rewarding. This process, at times fulfilling, frustrating, and ultimately enlightening, allowed me to engage with my faith in a new way. Researching the Quranic foods that inspired these designs not only shaped the visual elements of the collection but also deepened my understanding of the verses in which they are mentioned. Through these pieces, I was able to explore a more artistic form of worship, and I hope they resonate with you as deeply as they do with me!
